At Off-Leash Hotel, we go to great lengths to ensure our guests stay healthy and happy. Our facility features a high-end drainage system designed for constant hosing and deep-cleaning with canine-safe disinfectants throughout the day. However, even with the most rigorous sanitization protocols, there are inherent risks whenever dogs share a communal environment.

To provide our families with peace of mind, we have established the Pet Health Protection Plan. This mandatory program ensures that if your dog requires veterinary care following a stay, we are here to help cover the costs.

Plan Details

Protection Cost: A nominal fee of $1.65 per day (applies to all Daycare and Boarding stays).

Coverage Limit: We will reimburse your veterinary expenses up to $500 per incident.

Scope: This plan applies to all guests, including those in Private Boarding. While private boarders do not socialize in groups, they share the same facility and air filtration. Because they still face environmental risks for contagious illnesses, they are included in the protection plan.

What is Covered

Our plan is designed to handle the most common medical needs that can arise from a social environment, including:

Play-Related Injuries: Cuts, scrapes, or minor wounds sustained during group play that require professional medical attention (e.g., stitches, wound cleaning, or a course of antibiotics).

Contagious Illnesses: Veterinary care for illnesses passed between dogs (such as canine cough), provided the pet was properly vaccinated according to our policy.

Illnesses Requiring Medication: If your dog develops a covered condition that requires a prescription to recover, those costs are included in your reimbursement.

Why We Share the Risk

Bringing your dog to a boarding or daycare facility is much like sending a child to daycare. Despite our constant disinfecting and cleaning, dogs can carry and pass along “playground” bugs that may not show symptoms until the dog is back home.

By paying a small daily fee, you are protected against the bulk of unexpected vet bills. We believe this partnership represents a fair balance: we provide top-tier cleaning and supervision, and you share in the responsibility of the risks associated with social pet environments.

How to File a Claim

If your pet requires medical attention after their visit, please follow these steps:

48-Hour Notification: You must notify Off-Leash Hotel of the illness or injury within 48 hours of your pet leaving our care.
Submit Paperwork: Provide an official paid receipt and a written diagnosis from your veterinarian.
Prompt Reimbursement: Once approved, we can apply a credit to your account, mail a check, or pay your vet directly.

Plan Exclusions

To keep this program affordable for everyone, the following scenarios are excluded from coverage:

Pre-Existing & Chronic Conditions: Issues present before arrival, including ear infections, worms, hip dysplasia, or symptoms that repeat every time the dog stays here.
Self-Inflicted Injuries: Injuries caused by the dog’s own actions, such as jumping awkwardly, biting at their suite, or chewing their own bedding/nails.
Stress-Related & Non-Contagious Ailments: Diarrhea or vomiting caused by stress, dietary changes, or eating feces (Coprophagia). Also excludes seizures or neurological conditions.
Environmental Outbreaks: Widespread regional outbreaks of canine influenza or cough that are beyond any facility’s control.
Activity-Related Strains: Pulled muscles or ligament issues (like ACL tears) resulting from normal running and playing where no aggression occurred.
Age/Shelter Factors: Coughing related to extensive barking, or dogs rescued from a shelter within the past two months.
Vaccination Lapses: Illnesses where the dog was not vaccinated at least 48 hours prior to check-in.
Natural Occurrences: Issues like Bloat, warts (due to long incubation periods), or reactions to water/shampoo/cleaning chemicals.
Owner-Provided Items: Injuries or illnesses caused by toys, bones, or bedding brought from home.
Outside Our Care: Any injury occurring once the dog has left our facility or during the hand-off process in the lobby.

Additional Plan Guidelines

Medical Verification and Evaluation: For any claim involving ongoing treatment, you agree to have your veterinarian share the full diagnosis and treatment history with Off-Leash Hotel to verify the reimbursement. Additionally, Off-Leash Hotel reserves the right to have the pet examined by a veterinarian of our choice, at our expense, while a claim is being reviewed.
Total Coverage Limit: The $500 cap is our maximum liability per incident. If Off-Leash Hotel pays your veterinarian directly, that payment will be subtracted from the $500 total. Any costs exceeding this limit are the sole responsibility of the pet owner.
Dispute Resolution: Should any disagreement arise regarding this protection plan or a specific claim, both parties agree to resolve the matter through formal arbitration following the standard procedures of the American Arbitration Association.
Legal Compliance: If any part of this plan is found to conflict with local or state laws where the pet owner resides, that section will be updated to meet the minimum legal requirements of that jurisdiction.
